Apostle Larry G. Brown, Sr., was raised in Chicago, IL, and attended Healing Temple Church of God in Christ (COGIC), where he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He is married to Pastor Geneice (Fondren) Brown; they have a daughter, Berkys, and a son, Larry G. Brown Jr.

Larry's calling to ministry was realized while deployed in Saudi Arabia during the Persian Gulf War in 1990. He preached his initial sermon on February 23, 1997, in Albany, Georgia, after which Superintendent John F. Thomas, Sr. officially licensed him for ministry. Larry relocated to Woodbridge, Virginia, after retiring from the United States Marine Corps in October 1997. A year later, in 1998, he was ordained as an Elder by Overseer Patricia A. Pringle, the founder of Evangelistic Deliverance Ministries (ECOD) Inc., located in Havre de Grace, Maryland.
In January 2000, Larry, along with his wife and children, initiated worship services in their home. This humble beginning led to the formal establishment of the Spirit of Truth Deliverance Church (SOTDC). Overseer Pringle officiated the installation of SOTDC, and its first official service, held in a facility in Woodbridge, Virginia, on Easter Sunday, April 23, 2000, was a significant milestone in their ministry journey.

In August 2007, the Browns returned to the COGIC under the leadership of Superintendent Thomas, Albany District, Western Georgia Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction. This marked a significant homecoming for the Browns. In July 2010, the Western Georgia Jurisdictional Prelate, Bishop Henderson Spivey, appointed Pastor Brown as Superintendent of the newly formed Apostolic Fire District (AFD) headquartered in Northern Virginia. In December 2014, the AFD (SOTDC and Perfected Praise Ministries (PPM)) joined the Virginia Fourth Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction (VA4) under the leadership of Jurisdictional Prelate Bishop G. Wesley Hardy, Sr.

In June 2017, after much prayer and introspection, Superintendent Brown disbanded the Apostolic Fire District to focus on the growth of SOTDC. In July 2017, SOTDC joined the Richmond South District (RSD) under the leadership of Superintendent Alfred L. Nicholson, Administrative Assistant to Bishop Hardy. In August 2019, Chief Apostle Jerry Taylor of the Apostolic Kingdom Network (AKN), headquartered in Chicago, IL, elevated Superintendent Brown to the Apostleship.

Apostle Brown, a dedicated teacher, deliverance preacher, co-founder, and co-pastor of SOTDC, has significantly contributed to spiritual growth and community cohesion. In April 2017, he launched the Heart 4 The Community Initiative (H4TCI) to meet community needs and uplift spirits. As the founder and Presiding Prelate of the Apostolic Fire Fellowship International (AFF Intl) since 2019, he offers spiritual mentorship and oversight to a network of churches in the U.S. and internationally, demonstrating his commitment to spreading faith and uniting believers.
